Pastoral Care - Meet the Staff

Full-Time Staff

Rev. Harlan Ratmeyer Rev. Harlan Ratmeyer, M. Div., D. Min.
Harlan Ratmeyer serves as the Manager of the Department of Pastoral Care and as the Supervisor for the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program at Albany Med.  Harlan is an ordained minister in the Reformed Church of America, and also serves as a minister to a local congregation.  A native of Illinois, Harlan has trained and supervised in a variety of settings in Michigan, California, and Illinois, and has led the department at Albany Med since 1995. 
Elizabeth Hall Elizabeth Hall, M.A.
Liz Hall is the Administrative Assistant for the Department of Pastoral Care.  A Roman Catholic, Liz completed her Master's degree in Theology at St. Bernard's School of Theology and Ministry.  Liz completed five units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Albany Med, and has worked in her current capacity since 2001. 
Claudia Landau Claudia Meyer, M.A.
Claudia Meyer is a full-time interfaith chaplain at Albany Med, and is a candidate for APC Board Certification.  After completing a Masters Degree in Theology at Fuller Seminary she completed nine units of Clinical Pastoral Education at AMC.  Claudia currently serves the Cardiac (Critical Care and Surgery Units), Hematology/Oncology, and General Medicine patient populations.   She serves on a number of hospital committees, including Institutional Ethics, Emergency Management and Patient Grievance.  Claudia is a Healing Touch Practitioner and has completed Reiki Level I.   

Resident Chaplains

Yervant Kutchukian Yervant Kutchukian, M.A.
Yervant, a Capital District native, serves as senior resident in the Clinical Pastoral Education Program at Albany Med.  He is an ordained deacon in the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church, having graduated from St. Nersess Armenian Seminary and St. Vladmir's Orthodox Theological Seminary.  He currently serves the populations of the Locked Psychiatric Unit, Locked Prison Unit, Surgical Telemetry/Vascular Unit, Neurology Unit, and the Pediatric Units.
Keith Patterson

Keith Patterson
Keith is a Capital District transplant from Columbia County and completed his first unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Albany Medical Center (2008-2009).  He is a 2008 graduate of the Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, MA, with a special competence in Pastoral Theology.  Keith covers the MICU, SICU, Emergency Department, Adult/Pediatric Observation and Orthopedic Units.

Alice Houghtaling Alice Houghtaling
Alice, a native of Oregon, completed her Master’s Degree in Pastoral Studies at St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry.  She is a Quaker and is a member of the Schenectady Meeting.  She is also a member of the NY Community of Churches Chaplain Board.  Alice serves the patient populations in the Medical-Surgical, CPS Recovery, Medical Cardiology, Obstetrics/Labor & Delivery, and Neonatal ICU units.
Deborah Wilson Deborah Wilson
Deborah, an Albany native, completed her Master’s Degree at Seattle University and has served as a staff chaplain at Deaconess Hospital in Bozeman, Montana.  She currently attends Unity Church.  Deborah serves the needs of patients in the Infectious Disease, Hematology/Oncology, Renal/Renal Transplant, Vascular, and Physical Rehabilitation Units.

Part-Time Chaplain Staff

Ken Gregory Fr. Ken Gregory
Fr. Ken Gregory, a priest of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany, has served as one of the Catholic priest chaplains at Albany Med since 1995.  He received his chaplain certification from Pilgrim State Hospital, West Brentwood, NY.  Fr. Ken also serves as sacramental Minister in the parishes of St. John Francis Regis, Grafton, NY and Sacred Heart, Berlin, NY.
Bob DeLeon

Fr. Bob DeLeon, C.S.C., M. Div.
Fr. Bob DeLeon has served as one of the Catholic priest chaplains at Albany Med since 2002.  He received his M. Div. from the University of Notre Dame and chaplain certification from the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC).  Fr. Bob also authors a weekly gospel reflection ("Soul Surfing") on the web at www.familyrosary.org/main/prayer-soul.php

Younas Azad Younas Azad
Younas Azad is a part-time interfaith chaplain at Albany Med.  Mr. Azad received his training in Clinical Pastoral Education at New York University Medical Center, and earned a certificate in Pastoral Counseling at Post Graduate Center of Mental Health.  He is a member of the National Association of Catholic Chaplains.
Mary Craven Mary C. Craven, M. Ed.
Mary Craven is a part-time interfaith chaplain and has attended St. Bernard's Institute.  She completed her Master's Degree at Antioch University.  In addition, Mary has completed nine units of CPE here at Albany Med.
